Network Layer Protocols

 Network Layer Protocols -: International standard ORGANISATION has created a model By the help of this model we can create our communication protocol this model called OSI model. OSI (Open system interconnection)model also called a Network layer protocol model. Network layer protocol model has divided in 7 layers.

 

 

Physical Layer-: This layer is related to transfer the data into bit.This layer protocol is responsible to determine the communication work. In other words we can say that the physical layer is responsible for the transmission and reception of unstructured raw data between a device and a physical transmission medium.Bit rate control is by the physical layer.

It converts the digital bits into electrical.Physical Layer  define characteristics such as voltage levels, the timing of voltage changes, physical data rates, maximum transmission distances, and physical connectors. This includes the layout of pins, voltages, line impedance, cable specifications, signal timing and frequency for wireless devices.

Example if we transfer 0 and 1 bit it determine how many voltage electricity need to reached his destination . All the work has been done by this layer protocol.

Data link layer-: This layer provide node to node transmission.This layer make a series for the data packets.when it get the data is divided in packets. Many times data sender speed is very fast and the receiver speed is very slow in this process the data will be lost but this layer protect the data.

Network Layer-:This layer is responsible for making a route that the data will be reached source to his destination.When many network member send the data together they come in a way to each other in this condition the data will be lost or forget his destination. Network layer is responsible to send the data to his right destination.

Transport Layer-:  It get the small packet of data to session layer and transfer the data to network layer.This layer provide two type service for the network user

  • In first service it provide point to point communication between the sender and receiver. In this process data will reached his destination that series
  • second is transport service In this services the data will be reached his destination but the series is break.

Session Layer -: This layer make the relation between two layers because the data will be transfer to each other. On the network the communication will be happen in this layer

Presentation Layer-: This layer is responsible the data in symatics and syntax mode as like when the data transfer into network the data will be coded. No one can read this data.

Application Layer-: It is the OSI layer closest to the end user.Which means both the OSI application layer and the user interact directly with the software application. In the application layer have store many protocol. This layer interacts with many software applications Application-layer functions typically include identifying communication partners, determining resource availability, and synchronising communication.
